He was originally committed to Alabama to play safety, but later chose California so he could play wide receiver and join his half-brother, quarterback Zach Maynard.

College Career

Allen played college football at the University of California from 2010 through 2012. He made an immediate impact as a freshman, catching 46 passes for 490 yards and five touchdowns.
