A fire broke out Friday morning at a recycling facility in Galveston, Texas. The Galveston Fire Department said crews were called to the facility at 702 61st Street at about 11:30 a.m.

The fire involved a pile of metal debris and appliances at the recycling facility, according to the Galveston Fire Department.
Multiple emergency crews responded to the scene. Firefighters used a backhoe to separate the debris and flatten the pile while working to control the fire.
The City of Galveston said firefighters quickly brought the blaze under control.
